Question ProComp Extr MT vs. Nitto M/G

I have my heart set on some Nitto Mud grapplers but am hearing mixed reviews on tread wear. Not looking for 50k but 20-30 would be nice. Also looked into Pro-comps extreme mud terrain and the Mickey Thompson MTZ and the claw.Any and all input would be appreciated as i am getting them soon and have found this site MORE than helpful!

the pro comp xtreme mt and mickey thompson mtz and claw are great tires but if you like bad tread life and sounding like a jumbo jet coming down the road the mud grapplers are the tire for you

I'd go with the Pro Comp Xtreme MT's or Mickey Thompson MTZ's out of those choices.

A buddy has a set of Nitto MG's, you cant hear the radio in the cab over the tires. If you dont mind the ridiculous noise, they do look good on the truck.

Thanks for the help. Ya'll changed my mind on those Grapplers. Now with those other tires, anyone have any experience? Tread life and performance between the MTZ and the Claw would be interesting... ?

The claws are directional, so it will be a difficult to rotate. I would go with mtz.

Difficult to rotate? why would that be? I would only buy a radial tire and you never criss cros radials. front to back, back to front. Rotating wouldn't be an issue. Plus i have a shop, so tools are plentiful. And about the Nitto's, noise is least of my worries. I love loud tires. I am nervous because i have heard people only getting around 10K on them. Any truth? Anyone actually own a set? whats your tread/milage like? I aint looking for 50k but a good 25k would be nice! Thanks all for your input, really helping me out!

It's been safe to cross rotate radials for decades. The info on not cross rotating radial tires was given out in the 1970's.

I did it (cross rotate) not too long ago on my Dynopro A/T (about 2k) and its already tearing them to sh*t. The tread rapidly started depleting and the tire now looks like I wheel over volcan rock (tears and chunks missing)! I had heard the same thing you say but I work in a shop, liability reason we cannot not cross rotate radials. I would not recomend it on any tire. And we were talking Claws, so to cross rotate those would mean re-mounting and balancing just to make them go in the proper direction. Cross rotating is not only pointless but dangerous, and highly NOT recommended by many tire guys.

I've always cross rotated and never had a problem. I recently removed a set of BFG AT KO's with 56,000 miles with no problem and sold them. On my last Jeep, I got over 60,000 miles out of a set of Bridgestone Duelers.
