I just came back from getting my Helo Maxx 6 wheels and Nitto 295/70-17's on my truck - they look great !

When I was there, the guy at the counter said in order for them to align my truck after adding a 2 1/2" spacer in the front (it's a 4X2) I have to buy a alignment cam set and have them installed on the lower control arms - to the tune of $350 ! WTF ?!?

Has anyone else heard of this ? Or are they just trying to drive up the money they can get out of me while they have it up on the rack ?

Thats what i was told also by 4wheelparts
have not had it done yet
I had ford do the alignment at 400 miles they did not say anything about it and
did the alignment on there dime
But my tires are not wearing like they should be

 

I don't know about the 04-07's, but adjustable camber bolts for the 97-03's are around $40 at most parts stores. Look them up at one of the chain parts store websites like Advance Auto.

 

I'm going to check with the alignment guy that did my 39 Ford - he can align anything.

By the way - I spent 3 1/2 hours in 4 Wheel Parts waiting to get my wheels put on. What a waste of time. I tried to take them home and throw them on myself but they kept saying it was only going to be a little longer, and longer and longer.

If you want something done right or on time - do it yourself. Even with the wait it came out looking GREAT !
