I wouldnt get them. I heard the tread life is horrible. They probably wont do much in mud, if they are made for sand. If you are going through mud, get a mud tire.

The reviews I've read say they don't work well in mud, but no all terrian tire does well in mud.

Thanks for the info.

I am working on putting together a 4x4 to do some moderate off roading. Still in the planning phases so I am trying to do as much research as I can.

The problem for me is being in New Orleans its almost an hours drive on the interstate just to get to mudded areas. So I need something that will handle the highway and still work in the mud. I liked the look of the dune grapplers which is why I even asked about them.

What is the take on these?? Kumho Road Venture MT's

http://www.kumhousa.com/specifictire...tId=2&pid=KL71

I have seen alot of good stuff on the BFG A/T's but I hate the way the sidewall cups up to the tread, looks too much like the tires on my companies 3500 Flatbed.

I like it when the tread blocks start on the sidewall a bit and go onto the top of the tires. The Toyo Open Countrys do it as well as the Kumho's however considering my road driving will far outweigh my mud driving I think going for the cheaper tire would be better from a tread life/replacement stand point.

If you want a mud tire that will do good (for a mud tire) check out the toyo OC m/ts. They are suppose to me one of the best muds on the road and you can get some miles out of them. The only problem is they are pricey!

take it from someone that knows. DO NOT buy the dune grapplers. Horrible tread life and are most definitely NOT a mud tire!

Toyos have always got amazing reviews. Do awesome in mud, awesome on road, quiet on road, good road traction, and awesome tread life. Thats why i bought them. I love them and will never own a different tire.

Your best bet sounds like the Toyo MT's, but the BFG MT KM, Mickey THompson MTZ, Kuhmo MT's, Pro Comp Xtreme MT's and **** Cepek Mud Country would also be good choices.
