Question Which upgrade Pads would you choose?

Been reading up on upgrading my brake pads and wanted to get the latest information from you guys. I have polished aluminum rims and it’s a lot of work cleaning the brake dust off them!!!

So which pads do you vote for as my upgrade? Keep in mind I wont be upgrading rotors at this time because low on funds. I’m also taking suggestions on links to a place to buy them or feel free to recommend any other pad not listed. I just listed the ones below that seemed the most popular. (Thanks!)

Carquest (Raybestos) pads BLUE
AKEBONO
Hawk HPS
Wagner Thermo Quiets

i haven't upgraded yet, but am thinking that i will put stock rotors back on when i replace those and when i have to replace the pads, i have heard that the pads from the F250 fit and provide much better braking...

Honestly, of the 4 chosen, the "blues" and "thermoquiets" are very recommended via searching. Be sure to report on the ones you got there AKEBONO, as feedback goes a long way here, good and bad. If you stay semi-metallic, you ought to be fine, but after a few months, if yours are dusting bad, it's the tip of the iceberg.

I'v had the Thermo Quiets for about 42,000 miles now and they are still holding up fine. I replaced the rotors about 12,000 miles ago due to bearing failure, and have had no problems whatsoever.

I'll be first to say I give up easy and lazy with searching, but for needles in the haystack stuff. Oil, non-dusty pads and exhaust recommendations are easy to find without search button.

HAWK LTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously the decision stops right there. Hawk makes some great pads. I just switched my car to Hawp HPS pads and Powerslot rotors and the braking is incredible. If you want your F-150 to stop like a sports car time and time again, go with these. And ****, for $530 you could rock all 4 pads and 2 new slotted rotors!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hawk LTS Brake Pads utilize specialized ferro-carbon pad technology to provide superior stopping power for your full-sized truck or SUV

Expertly dissipates the higher temperatures of your brake system far better than stock pads

Hawk LTS Brake Pads muffle braking noise to an absolute minimum for such a high-performance pad

Keeps your wheels cleaner with significantly less dust than a stock pad

Hawk LTS Brake Pads boast superior brake fade resistance for consistent stopping bite every time you hit the brakes

Provides the best of many worlds with enhanced performance and excellent pad life, keeping your rig on the road longer

Directly replaces tired stock pads—no installation hassles

Your Hawk LTS Brake Pads are covered by a Lifetime Warranty

Your towering truck or surly SUV rules the road. But, the big automakers may have shortchanged your rig on stopping power. Leave it to Hawk Performance and their all-new LTS Brake Pads to put plenty of braking bite back into your big dog.

Hawk LTS Brake Pads handle the heat generated by the your truck or SUV's big brakes. Unlike stock pads that are plagued by brake fade, Hawk LTS Brake Pads are specially designed to resist fade and provide consistent grip stop after stop. Hawk LTS Brake Pads can do this by dissipating heat better than any other severe duty pad.

While they're big on performance, Hawk LTS Brake Pads are small on two of your least favorite brake nuisances: dust and noise. In fact, Hawk LTS Brake Pads are extremely quiet for a performance pad and keep your wheels cleaner longer. Best yet, your Hawk LTS Brake Pads boast a Lifetime Warranty.
