Shipping tires

I am trying to get a set of tires from KC to So Cal and the shipping is over $200 on FedEx. Does anyone know if there is a cheaper way to get these shipped ?

Thanks !

fist things first, ship to a business address it is always cheaper than a residential. Second, if you do not have an account, find a friend or someone that does. Fedex discounts deep to people who use them often. Just have them bag or shrinkwrap the tires (if they do not have rims on them) and slap on a label. Fedex is based on weight, size and destination. No need to box tires. If non of these are options try ups it may be a little cheaper.

this is a little uncommon, but try the bus lines. I have sent big items that way for a decent price.

I just recently shipped a set of 35x12.5x17 on oem 17s (96 lbs each) from Chicago to Winston-Salem, NC for about $200 w/ FedEx Ground.

Mine were shrink-wrapped individually and shipped as four seperate items (as opposed to using a pallet)

You can also look at freight companies.

As for just tires, those same 35x12.5x17 were sent from CA to IL for $105.
