Thumbs down I've had it with Porterfield POOP pads

I got $175+ worth of Porterfield brake pads for the sole purpose of getting new pads with less dust- I was sick of cleaning my 22s DAILY.

Well thank God I got the porterfields so I can instead clean then every other day instead Sure, they stop better...but that wasn't what I wanted. I searched for weeks on the forums, and followed the advice of people on here...only to be left utterly disappointed.

Now, less than 10,000 miles later on the pads they are squeaking atrociously. When I installed them I even used the proper anti-squeal spray and all. Now, for the first time in my life I have squeaky brakes...and they're still pretty new.

I hate these pads. Complete waste of money. I HIGHLY urge anyone considering new pads to look elsewhere.

(And now the search begins, AGAIN, for a TRUE dust free pad...)

Sounds like you're having the same problems I had with the Carquest "gold" colored ceramic pads. I'm surprised you're searching found you the Porterfields and not Wagner or Carquest (Raybestos). Listen to me very clearly, if I only have good advice about one thing it's this. BUY CARQUEST "BLUE" SEMI-METALLIC PADS AND YOU WILL BE HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!! I am not kidding, braking performance may be a bit better than stock, but they give ALMOST NO DUST. I just cleaned my rims inside during a tire rotation, 10k km's and about 9 months of not cleaning, almost clean still I was amazed. Do yourself a huge favour and buy these ones, if not happy I'd be veeeeerrrryyy surprised. I hope this helps.
