Opinions please !

I am considering 3 tires in 2 sizes and need some feedback. I have an 05 XLT SCREW 4X2 with an AS 2" and stock 17's. I am looking at BFG AT KO's, Mickey Thompson baja ATZ's, or Cooper Wildcat (I think it's wildcat). Anyway, my size choices are 265 70 or 285 70, which are 31.6 and 32.8" in diameter respectfully. I like the 265's because they are still a good highway tire and that's all I drive. Plus my speedometer and mpg will stay close to same. However, I am adding the AS AAL 1.5 to the rear so I get the 4X4 stance, so I want the most size out of the tire I can get. The 275's shouldn't be a problem fitting, but I hear that I may need to have my computer reprogrammed for shiftpoints, etc?? What do you guys think? I am in the bed recovering from back surgery and have nothing but time to read and research

Out of those, I'd go with the BFG's. The Mickey ATZ is getting good reviews, but I just don't care for the way the narrow sizes look (the wide versions look great). You can fit either size. You don't have to have your computer reprogrammed, but it is a good idea. You speedo/odometer will just be off slightly. How much depends on what your OEM tire size is. Your dealer can do this for around $80, or you can do it with one of the aftermarket computer tuners (Edge, Superchips, etc).

Thanks Wandell, my OEM tire size is 255 65 17. I want to go with the 285 70 17's. They may decrease my fuel economy, but they look great! BTW I noticed your Honor Guard car tag on your truck, are you on the job? I am former LE and Honor Guard Matt
