Powder coating wheels Q...?
Powder coating wheels Q...?
I want a specific look, and the only thing i can think of is powder coating the wheels...has anyone had luck with this? also if there is another, better way to paint the wheels black...Im looking at the American Racing "Mojave" polished, and powder coating them black. ill attach a pic of what im going for...(remember this is just a crappy job of me coloring in the wheel, to get a visual of what i want...)
these will be 20x10's...prob going with the Mud Grappler 37x13.50x20 or MT-baja claw 36x15.50x20

teflon?
they come in a black teflon finish (but i assume you know that and that's not exactly what you're after).?.? they have a polished ring you can put on the "regular" mojave; that would make the teflon wheel look much better (IMO).
you can powder coat them but why not just get the teflon ones.... granted they aren't that shiney its going to be a pain to get those things powder coated when all you have to do is order the rims black.... o and dont get mud grapplers... i hate them go with the mickey thompsons!!!!
i tried to make myself like the teflons, but its not working...gotta powder coat...just thought maybe there was another way, maybe just painting would hold up...not sure, just trying to save a few bucks if possible...and i have always like the appearance of the mud grapplers...but i think id rather give up an inch in height and gain a couple in width...I really like how Trooks' truck stance looks, just hoping the rize 8" lift gives the same effect as his setup...
i agree about the teflon appearance; just not as nice as a glossy-er finish. i can't imagine that painting them would hold up as well as powder coating. i also like the look of the mud grappler, but personally i can't put up with such extreme road noise! they also seem to wear extremely quickly (though i've never owned a set).
