offset and backspacing

Hey everyone this is my first post and I wonder if someone can clear this up for me. I am going to have my wheels and tires put on my 06 f-150 they are the moto metel 951 and they come in three sizes which size is going to give me the look I am looking for. I want them to stick out just a little not much. The tires are 33x12.5R18, the size choices are: 18x9 with 5.18 backspacing and 30mm offset 18x9 with 5.71 backspacing and 18mm offset 18x9 with 6.18 backspacing and 30 mm offset

I would say get the ones with 5.18 BS. Those will stick out a little over one inch farther than the stock rims. The other 2 options will not stick out as much. It depends on what look you are going for, but if you want the truck to have a slightly wider stance, go with the 5.18 BS. You can check my gallery for pics of my setup for comparison. My rims are 18x9 with 5" of BS, so yours will stick out .18 inches less than mine. Good luck!

I'm not quite sure, but I think the offset is just a different way of measuring backspacing. I think there is a mistake in your first post. A 5.18 backspacing has 5-6mm of offset, not 30mm. If you are not sure, check out this LINK

Yeah, offset and backspacing are just two different ways to measure the same thing. The oem 17 and 18 inch wheels are 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of backspacing, so use that as a guide. The 9 inch wheels with 5.71 inch backspacing will stick out about 1 1/4 inches farther than stock, the 6.18 inches would stick out about an inch farther, and the 5.18 inches would stick out about 2 inches farther than stock.
