Broken brake hose

I recently got stuck in the mud pretty bad. Check out my other post for details.

While surveying the damage I discovered a brake hose had been cut. It's on the rear axle and appears to go straight up near the truck bed. Does anyone know what this hose does? Can i just zip tie it back on or is there more to it than that? I looked in the Hayne's manual I have but couldn't find any info about it. I don't know if it is a vacuum hose, vent tube or whatever...

thanks!

I believe thats the rear diff vent hose Just get a new piece of hose and run it up to where the old one goes. It ventilates the diff unit and the hose up high keeps water out
