Newbie looking for advice

I'm new to 4x4 trucks and this forum, and I'm looking for a little advice. I just bought an '05 Black F-150 SuperCab with the XLT trim package. I want to add lift and new wheels and off road tires to give the truck a little more of an aggressive off road look. Can anyone recommend a lift kit and a good wheel and tire combination? Thanks.

There are a couple of things you need to do first!

What size tire do you want to run?
How much lift do you want? (Will be determined by what tire size you want)

As for lifts? I'd go with:

Fabtech
Rize
Pro Comp

Tires and wheels? Well.... There are just so many. I suggest you look here to get some ideas:

As he said above, there are a lot of things to consider, but personally i think that 6 Inches and 35's are the minimums when lifting a truck.....never had and issue with Superlift.....and have always liked Wrangler M/T's

I agree. I'd suggest a 6 inch Rize, RCD or Fabtech lift ans some 35 inch tires on 18 or 20 inch wheels.

A 6" is "just a little more then stock"?

If you have the scratch, thats certainly an option with a large following around here.

Many of us are just lifting the front 2-2.5" to fix 33s, my favorite look for these trucks.

Up to you of course. Personally I live in a desert (no mud) so I just want enough tire for deep sand.

As far as wheel/tire comboes go, I'd ask Wandel(duh) or a good tire shop. Guys are getting 35s under a 3" lift with a bit of cutting, and with blistien 5100s and a 6" rize 37-38" setups are easily cleared.

Ive got the 5100s and a set of 20x8.5 (6" back spaced) torq-thrusts in the garage, just saving for Dune Grapplers to wrap them with.

Welcome to the site by the way, I wast MANY hours at work on here.
