35's on oem 20's?
35's on oem 20's?
so i've got an 06 KR FX4 superduty with a 2" leveling kit installed. I have the oem 20" rims( i believe that they are 8" or 8.25" wide). I want an all-terrain tire, not a mud terrain tire. I've been looking at the nitto tg's, the toyo at's, the bfg at's, and the mickey thompson atz's.
the problem is that 3 of the 4 tires are offered only in a 325/60/20 size which on nitto's site says it's a 12.9 width and slightly over 35" tall... the only one offered in a 35x12.50R20 is the MT ATZ. I have read time and time again that the atz's pick up tons of rocks, so i was beginning to steer away from those tires and more towards the nittos...
my question is this, are the 325/60/20's too wide for my oem rims?
i was surfing www.trucktoyzperformance.com and saw that they've installed many leveling kits on superdutys and put this size tire on the factory 20's...but i was just curious if it's ok to do.

yeah you could fit that size tire on your stock rims fine, people put them on stock 17 and 18's all the time which is a 7.5'' wide rim. If and when you do that the important thing is to keep them properly inflated and rotate on a regular basis and you should have no problems with them wearing well. That will look great, I have seen a couple SD's with that setup and it does look great....
