Rear brakes on an '04

My mechanic says the rear pads have a couple of thousand miles left. He can replace the pads, but also wants to replace the rotors. He say's they rust (27K miles). He also said the ebrake is inside the rotor. Is he yanking my chain about needing rotors?

Unless you did some serious damage to those rotors (like wore the pads down to the metal), then there should be no reason to replace the rotors. You may want to have them turned (resurfaced), but not replaced.

And yes, the rear disks also incorporate a drum for the e-brake. No chain-yankin' there.
