Outer pads wearing slower than inner pads...

on a 1999 F-150. Does anyone have an answer for me as to why I would be having this problem? It seems like when I change my pads I still have a lot of life left on the outer pads, (i.e. the ones not against the pistons). Any insight on this subject would be very much appreciated.

Your caliper pins/bolts are hanging, new ones are cheap. Grease them good every brake job.
