tire rub on suspension stuff
i have somee 33/12.5/r16's right now but pretty soon im getting some 38/14.5/r16 toyos. my question is will thoes tires rub on my suspension components? i was looking at mine today and my rims dont have any back spacing or nuthin and there was like a half inch clearence between the tire and what i believe was the shock mount. its on an 02 and i dont really know much abut the torsion bar stuff except mine are cranked 3/4 of an inch. so do you think i will have problems? if so what will solve it
No offense, but it would seem you don't understand what backspacing is. I guarantee you have some. It sounds like you need less of it from what you have written. First you need to determine the size of your current rims? (to include diameter, width and backspacing.) Then you can determine what you need to change to on a new rim to fit the tire you want.
Backspacing is the distance between the inside mounting surface of your rim and the inside lip of your rim.

thanks it does. i have 16x8 american racing outlaw 2 rims with a 4.5 inch backside and 0 offset. they are a 5 lug. i have no lift but my torsion bars a cranked to fit the 305/75 r16's does that helpm at all? thanks you guys
Yes, those wheels (16x10, 5x135mm bolt pattern) will work. However, you are gonna need around 9 inches of lift to fit a 38x14.50 tire. I'd suggest a 6 inch Fabtech lift and a 3 inch Performance Accessories body lift.
