rear brakes hardly work...?

I put 4:10s in my truck yesterday, and when I was done, i let the lift down till the tires were almost a foot off the ground, started the truck, and put it in gear to listen for anything odd. Well no sounds at all, but I hit the brake to put in back in park, and it wouldnt stop the back tires from spinning... I pushed as hard as i possibly could, and it just barley caught to slow them a little, I pumped them several times pushing really hard and they finally came to a stop. My shoes are fine, could they be out of adjustment? I have noticed its a little harder to stop lately... Ive never changed the brakes in the back.

Sounds like the self adjusters are not working. I had mine seize up from rust so the would not expand the shoes when backing up. Might try backing up and braking, pull forward, and repeat a few times to see if it helps, but I would take a look at the drums hardware and see what kind of shape it is in.

Most likely out of adjustment.I would go back through it and cheack out the adjusters and springs to make sure they are working properly. That truck must haul a$$ now!!!!!
x2 on the backing up and breaking

lol yea I can tell its twice as fast, Im giving it a while to break in so i dont cause premature wear on the gears... I cant wait to open it up. I will pull the drums off and see if the adjusters are stuck.

those self adjusters always seem to seize up.every oil change i just lube and adjust them and they work fine. i use the e-brake few times a week just to keep everything moving back there.

I dont know, but I would guess it will go up a little because I do mostly all city driving. The engine wont have to work as hard to move.
