Will a 315-70-17 fit?

I have a 2005 4x4 crewcab F-150. I currently have a 2.5" leveling kit and was wondering if some 315-70-17 tires on a set of 17x8.5" rims with 5.5 or 5.75 inches of backspacing would fit without rubbing. I know there are a few people running this tires size with some 17x8's but I was hoping to go with some 8.5's. Thanks for any info

Thanks for the reply. Do you think I will have rubbing if I go with
some 17x8's with the 5.5" backspacing? Thanks

Probably a little, but I doubt it will be something that some minor trimming won't cure.

I just put my 315's back on, no rubbing on a 17x8 with 5 1/2" BS even doing some minor offroading. Had them on 17x9 with 5" BS prior and had minor rubbing on the lower wheelwells. Also the new wheels keep's them inside the wheelwells and keep's these rock throwing BFG's from tearing up the sides of my truck!

With your setup are the tires pretty flush with the fenders or do they stick in behind the fenders like the stock look? I have the edge....do they hurt the power much? Thanks

How about a 315/70/17 on a 17x9 with 5.5 BS?

I'm not sure. But that would be a little better than PawPaw's original setup and he said he only had minor rubbing.
