Will they fit? 285/70/17

I have a 2004 STX flareside and am looking at getting 285/70/17s on the truck. I need to do ASAP as my front passenger tire is showing radials from inside wear. Just noticed today.

Will these tires fit without leveling kit? Without rubbing?

Thanks in advance

That tire calculates to a 32.7x11.2, if you have a 4x4 you will probabbly be ok without rubbing.

I just put BFG 285/70/17's on my stock '06 crew cab. They fit fine. Don't see any reason why they wouldn't fit on your STX. But you can certainly have them do a test fit at a tire shop before you buy 'em.

good luck!

They are covers made by TFP Manufacturing, chromed stainless steel. Bought mine from California-Auto-Performance Online, an Ebay store.

just ordered 2 1/2" leveling kit.

Any recommendations on the size tire? Anyone know anybody with good deals?

Also how do the chrome handles mount over the existing handles?

Thanks

I've got an STX 4x4 with the 2" AS leveling kit. I got some 285/70-17s and I have some room to spare, absolutely no rubbing ever. With a 2wd truck, I think these would be about the biggest you can go. I could be wrong though. Do a little searching and I'm sure you could find a definite answer.

Let me know how it works out as I have a 05 XLT 4x2 and was considering that size. If they fit without the leveling kit that will wotk out just great.

The 285's ought to work out great on a 2 WD, leveled out would look better. I have the 285 Toyo AT's on my 4x4 which is leveled and have lot's of room.
