help adjusting speedometer

help adjusting speedometer

i was looking to put a bigger set of tires on a 2000 f150, i know i would have to adjust the speedometer, but not sure how to do it.
do i have to bring my truck somewhere, or can i do it in my driveway?

You can do it 2 ways? You can either take it to the dealer and have them do it or the better way would be to invest in a tuner and do it yourself plus enjoy the added bonus of the power a tuner gives you.

I agree. Also, you dont' have to adjust the speedometer/odometer, but it is a good idea.

Dealership told me I could bring my truck in after my new lift/tires and they could adjust the shift points and speedo for $80. I went with the tuner option though and got me an Xcal II & Troyer tunes (still waiting for the tunes to come in )
