I got my toyo A/Ts about a month ago and I decided I better check the tire pressure while I was changing my oil yesterday. My question is, what psi should they be filled to? They are 285/70R17 and they measured yesterday 47 psi in both rear tires and 45 in both of the front. The max psi listed on the tire is 65.

Does this sound right? Am I low? Thanks.

 

Those sound like either a LR D or LR E with a max of 65. 45 would be about right for those tires. I would not go much lower than that.

 

I've always had good luck with 40psi.

 

JohnBoy, I'm running the same tires and have been running 42 to 45psi on these crappy street's around here. If I go out of town on smooth highway's I'll go up to 50psi to get a little better gas mileage. They have been pretty good tires so far.
