dyno day with 35"s tires

Would it make a difference in power with 35" tires rather than stock tires in the dyno machine? Hopefully dyno day at troyers is coming up. Just debating run with stock tires or 35x13.5x18 tires

sure, especially if they are heavier than stock- they are definitely wide than stock and have much more rolling resistance (read acceleration)--remember to set the Rev's per mile to the respective tire you decide on...

33s vs 35s???

I'm having a similar dilemma I’ve been waiting for my lift kit and wheels for a couple weeks now (4” black rancho kit w/skid plate RSX9000 and remote damping, XD Monster 18” Black rims) and they’ll be here any day… but in the mean time I bought a set of 35x12.5x18 ProComp Xtreme A/Ts (still sitting at the shop) and have been trying to figure to who or how best to readjust the shift points and speedo to compensate for the larger tires. The Superchip FlashPaq tuner seems to handle everything, but is there a better product or alternative?

Thanks for your input!!!

2005 5.4 SCrew Lariat 4x4 2Tone Dark Shadow Grey (matte black matches wheels - can't stand the Gayrizona Beige)
4" Rancho 18' XD Monsters - Stainless Mesh Grille - AVIC-Z2

I'd recommend the Edge Programmer. Plug in, choose which level you want, then custom adjust for tire size, etc, with the push of a button. It works great for my setup which will be almost the same as yours.

Thanks Copenhagen848... I like the looks of your setup. How does it handle now? and do you have the remote damping for the shocks?

I was leaning towards the edge. I've been waiting about 4 weeks now for the lift, it was supposed to take 3, but they didn't tell me it was on back order so now I'm waiting till the first week of May for that... The wheels are like vaporware (Chit that gets advertised but can't be bought on planet earth.), but should be here this week. and now I have to figure out how to mount the edge and the rancho remote damping so it looks tight. I was thinking of mounting the damping remote where the ashtray is and the edge just needs a better finsh to match the lariat trim... the black doesn't look right.

And on another note I just installe the AVIC-Z2 with XM, Bluetooth, iPod, and reverse camera (a must if you ever tow a trailer) and its pretty F'n sweet! It'll be even nicer once the hacks get everything working while in motion.

When I first got my troyer tunes about 1.5 years ago, I had stock tires on my 2005 supercrew 5.4 4x4 and my dyno results before the tune was 209hp, and 247 torque. This was with a stock truck except for true dual exhaust. After Mike tuned the vehicle I got 242HP, and 296tq. Since then I added an Airforce One with 3.5 tube, and 35 cooper ST tires. I went down to Mikes about 2 months ago and he redid my tunes and hooked up to the dyno. The results with the 35 tires was about 250HP (249.something) and 305tq. I actually went up in HP and TQ with the bigger tires. I'm not sure if it was the Airforce One that help, or Mikes new tunes compensating for the bigger tires, but I definetly didn't lose anything going to bigger tires. Mike did say that if I had the stock tires back on the truck would have about 15-20 more HP.
