Wagner Thermo Quiet Reviews??
Seems like the Thermos and the Raybestos Blues are well known for no dust. Never tried the Thermos but the Blues have been on my 03 FX4 for about 20,000 dust free miles. I'll give a big thumbs up to the Blues and let someone else chime in about the Thermos. I paid around 35 bucks for the front set of Blues.
I have about 25,000 on my front pads, and about 10,000 on the rear. I like the Wagner Thermo Quiet and will buy them next time. Stop great, no noise, and almost no dust.

Raybestos Blues = Carquest Blues?
Are the Raybestos Blues ... the Carquest Blue Semi -Metallics??
I read in another post that Raybestos makes the Carquest ones.
I keep debating between Wagner & Carquest Blues. Both have good reviews and was hoping to reduce the brake dust from my OEM's. Ford really put on some good brakes didn't they!! LOL
In fact I am going with some Bendix OE replacement rotors for the front from Advance Auto since they are supposed to be made in North America and at least are an upgrade from the overseas replacement rotors I figured thats a step in the right direction. Hopefully!!

I just changed out the stock pads for Wagners a few weeks back, now about 1500 miles later the dust is by far a lot better, not completly gone, but for example I just got back from a 900 mile trip during Spring Break and the wheels still looked clean.

Did you or anyone else on here do any "bedding in" method with these?? Seems there are quite a few variations for bedding new brakes.

What I always have done is make several hard stops from about 30 mph over about a mile, then just some quick slow downs from about 50-35 mph.
Wagner, a name that has proven itself over and over in the aftermarket, like Moog, Bendix, AC Delco etc.... I would use the thermo quiets, but I'm stuck with the blues. My parts guy is a Carquest outfit, so blues are the choice. I stand by the blues as Bluejay432000 stands by the Wagners. Can't loose with either. Yes, as far as I know Raybestos makes the Carquest blue pads and are semi-metallic. MikeyB61, good job on the domestic purchases, feels good and it supports your country. As far as "bedding", I usually am very easy on the brakes for a few days, after that, all is normal and it seems to work fine. I know people use to do burnouts kinda to bed the brakes.

Yep, I believe in the Wagner Thermos because I am using them, sold to me by a parts guy when I went in asking for ceramic. I like the padding on the back that helps with the quietness. Having said that, I will say that based on what I have read in the threads, I would not hesitate to use the Carquest Blues if that was what was readily available to me. I think they both function very well.
As far as bedding, I have always just put the brakes together and go. I have never had a problem and I have done the brakes on many vehicles over the years. Just last week, I had to replace front rotors due to bad bearings and stayed with the old pads that have about 25,000 miles on them. No problem whatsoever. Smooth and quiet

Sorry for the ignorant question. I've done front brakes on a few cars now, but it's always been after warped rotors. Thats not the case on my F150. Can I just throw the new pads in and go or do I need to get the rotors turned?

Not ignorant at all. Many will tell you that they must be turned. Brake shops tell you that so they can charge you more and it reduces the chances of noise, etc. I look at mine and if the grooves on the braking surface are not deep, I never turn them. Never had a problem. Do be sure and lube the caliper bolts where the caliper slides. That is where a lot of noise eminates.
