Tire Help!!

Hey guys, I have an 01 Screw with what I believe is the stock tires. They are the 255 65 17's. I went to the tire shop and the guys is telling me the 275 60's have more options. He pulls out a Firestone Destination and said it is a great tire. I didn't think it looked all that great apprearance wise. There was a couple BFG's. Any suggestions on what tires are good out there for the stock 17's. I'm not looking for neccessarily long life, but a nice looking tire with road noise kept low. Any ideas would be great. Oh yeah, price and supplier if you know it. Thanks again. Sean

I have a 99 S Crew 4x2 "NASCAR" edition...275-60-17 came standard. The originals were Goodyear Eagle GT II. Replaced with another set @ 56k. Just replaced those with BGF Long Trail TAs @ 109k.

The Goodyears were OK. Treadlife was good, handled well. My one gripe is just the dry-rot I experienced. That happens, though, after a while.

I have about 1500 miles on the BFGs. So far, I like them too. They feel a little more "Trucky", as expected. Road noise is minimal, and I've seen people get 80k miles on a set.

If you go for the BFGs, I'd suggest getting them at Costco, if you have one near. Their tire install service is top-notch; Nitrogen filled, free lifetime rotations, balance, plus road hazard warranty all for $119/tire (~$480).

Hey guys thanks for the replies.
Copronymous, thanks for the info. I do have a Costco near by. I think I checked there when I was thinking I had to do the 255/65's, but now that I know 275/60's are virtually the same, I'll have to go check it out. That is a great price for the BFG's. I wasent' real excited about paying almost $800 for a set of tires, ouch! Thanks again for the info.
