Tire sizes-help

I have a 2005 f150 supercrew 4x4 .I'm going to add a 2inch levelling kit and would like to go with 33x12.5 17 tires. Will this combo work with the stock 17x7.5 rims??I will replace the rims later but no cash right now . Thanks in advance for any help.

There are no torsion bars on an 05.

On stock wheels, you should able to get the 33's on there without a leveling kit.

Thanks for the response . Further to that question ...if I was to use a 2inch levelling kit and a 2or 3 inch body lift and wanted to put 35x12.5 17's on the stock 17x7.5 rims would that set up work/fit??? Thanks for the help. I'am totally new to this and know next to nothing .

Yes, you could fit 35's by using a body lift and a leveling kit. Also, with the tire sizes and lifts you are talking about you are not limited to just using the OEM wheels. You could also fit 33's with a leveling kit and 35's with a leveling kit and body lift using aftermarket wheels.

Thanks for the information. I want to upgrade the rims at some point but money is tight right now so I have to go in stages. I am about a month away from getting started . I will post pics when I get stuff done . Thanks again.

hawkeye, I would put on some 285 or 295x70x17's on your stock wheels with a leveling kit, then save up some money to go up higher later on! Just my 2 cents.

What size are your OEM tires. A 35x12.50 is gonna be 305mm or 315mm wide. Take that number and subtract the width of you OEM tires. Now divide that number by two. For instance if you have a 265/70-17, the 35's will stick out 25mm farther on each side.

My oems are 255/70/17 so I'm lookin at 30mm.From what Ive read I should have little or no rubbing correct?? Thanks wandell. I'm going for a look similar to your truck.I like they way that looks.I still have to drive it every day and it is our main travelling vehicle as well. A 37"inch tire on an 8inch suspension lift isn't going to be the best setup for family trips etc.But man that would look great ....
