Well, I finally made my decision.

Wheel =
The Edge "Stout" in a black and machined finish, 18x9" with a +0mm offset.

Tire =
The Nitto Terra Grappler, 325/60-18...I've had them before and loved them, so I went with what I knew.

Flares =
Bushwacker Pocket Style, being painted dark shadow gray right now. They'll give me 2" coverage, which is about how much this package sticks out, so all good.

These photos are from the "test fitting" session. They rub just a touch a full lock on the front fascia. Going to shave it on both sides, probably 1/2" on the corners. On the inner fenders up front, I think I'm going to be okay...if going over a speedbump at absolute full lock, it might rub.

When the flares make it back from the paint booth, all will be installed and photos posted.

I'm not usually a fan of black rims, but those go well with you truck. Always like the look of Nittos! Don't forget to update pics after the bushwackers are on.

looks great! do you think your rubbing because of the width or the 33" diameter?? i have a 2" AS leveling kit and i am lookin at bigger tires. i have 20 x 8.5 wheels w/ 6" of backspacing and dont know what i can fit without rubbing...you seem to know your stuff, any tips??

I think that I'm rubbing because of a combination of width (this 325 tire is 13" wide I believe) and wheel offset. (+0mm) It's hard to get a wheel/tire combo that sticks out and doesn't clip that fascia with a bigger tire. If the wheel was more of a negative offset like some of these -12 and -18mm wheels, I'd rub a lot more.

Believe me when I say that I'm the pickiest SOB in the world...so for me to go ahead with this deal, the rubbing is minor. It'll bug me a little as my OCD kicks in (lol)...but a little shaving off that fascia, I should be good to go.

If you're on a 20x8.5 with 6" backspacing, you could use something like a 305/55-20 and I'll bet you won't rub...stick with that 33" diameter. the 305 might be a tad wide for an 8.5" wide wheel...might pooch it a bit, but it'll work okay. Could always back up to those 285 BFGs I believe they are.

great thanks F150BQ! i am lookin at gettin toyo muds and the closest they come to the 33 x 12.01 x 20 you suggest are the 33 x 12.5 x 20, do you think i can get away with the extra width without rubbing???

It might be close, but I think you'll squeak by....test fit'em first!

 

what do you mean "test-fit" them??

 

Have the shop dry fit a tire on one wheel and try one of the fronts....you can get an idea of rubbing before you're totally committed that way.

 

okay great idea. how much of a gap should i have all around to make sure i dont rub? like an inch or more or less?
