dumb brake question

This is probably one of the more stupid questions but I don't know anything about brakes. I have 45k miles on my 2004 4x4 and the brakes work great as far as stopping but they squeal like no other just as I come to a complete stop. Is there something in my pads? Any help would be appreciated.

Ps- Why isn't my picture showing up in my signature?

Your front pads need to be replaced. The sound you are hearing is the wear indicator doing its job. A piece of metal attached to the pad that makes contact with the rotor and lets you know that the brakes need attention.
