Tire size help

Im looking at buying some tires for my truck and i cant tell the differance between the two tires.

285/75 RR16

and

285/75 QR16

I cant figure out what the Q means instead of the R. All i know is that the Q is not rated for heavy snow traction.

Also i am trying to pick between the bf goodrich all terrain and the bf goodrich mud terrain.

I want a luggy tire but i dont want to much road noise and i need something that can handle snow and ice. for the next six months. THen im goign to cali and i will be ridin the dunes a lot more and i dont think that the mud terrain will be as good at the all terain.

Whats your guys's take on this whole thing?

Also i am running 265/ 75 16 's and was wondering if igo with the said size above will i notice a differance? if so what will be the differance? i have a ton of highway miles i drvie. with about 85% of miles on highways and the other 15% on off road 4*4 applications in mostly dry and somewhat light mud. Very rare i am in deep mud.

Also is my 4.6 guna notice a power differance with the taller and wider size?
