Is anybody running 295/70/17 or 305/70/17 on aftermarket wheels with just a leveling kit?

IF so, please post some pics and let me know if you have any rubbing.

Those tires ought to fit fine with just a leveling kit. I'm running 285x70x17 Toyo's on mine now and have lot's of room. When I had my 315's on they had minor rubbing so I took them off. The 305's should be around 33.7 the 295's a little shorter so you should be ok. When you get over 34" tall you can look for some problems. Check out my gallery.

I have Nitto TG's 295/70/17 on 17x9 MotoMetal 951b rims with an AS 1.5". The left front rubs the bumper skirt a bit in reverse at full lock. With my tire/rim combo I should have gone with a 2 or 2.5" spacer. I may put on a 2.5" and an AAL sometime in the future. I tow a travel trailer, so the AAL would be nice. But, it would put the back end up a lot higher than the front, so I'll have to add a little more to the front.

HI,

i'm kind of considering bigger tires sometime in the future too. I dont have a newer model F150 like i think you guys do, but i'm wondering,

are the 295/70/17 and 305/70/17 tires bigger in height than 285/70/17's, or are the 295/305 referring to width of the tire. I had 285's on the truck i totaled early in january (it was a 2wd with a 3 inch suspension lift) I just bought a 98 F150 4wd and want to lift it 2 or 2.5 inches with the torsion bars and add-a-leafs. if i can get that much lift on this truck, i wanted to see if i could get a tire slightly bigger than the 285's, but dont want to get 315's, i know those are too big for me. thanks for your help on the subject guys!

John

I'm running 305/70/17's on 17x10 Atlas rims. The only thing I got rubbing on was the front valence. Since I notched that off I don't get rubbing on anything, even at full lock.

This probably doesn't apply to you though, mines an 01.

Is it my eyes or does the rear of your truck ride lower than the front with the leveling shocks?
