E-brake won't release??

E-brake won't release??

I have an 04 F150 SCREW and I applied the e brake today and now it won't release. just on the driver side, the passenger side is fine, has anyone experienced the problem?

Sometimes water will freeze inside the cable; especially if the sheath is damaged. You should be able to pull the cable back at that wheel to release it.

i try to use the e -brake maybye once a week even if i really dont need it. those cables and linkage seize up on ya from not being used. and that one time in a real emergency you push the pedal and hear SNAP not good..

Oh did I ever experience it. I have rear discs which I assume you do too. Anyways after f'n around with them, finally I decided to replace all the hardware, anti-seize everything, wire wheel all the pieces and use the thing. It's been fine, but I still check it quite a bit just in case. My advice, clean everything very thoroughly, anti-seize where needed (especially on the swivelling piece that connects to the cable) and reassemble.
