Wheels/tires Help?

Hey guys I have a 06 SCrew 4x4 XLT. I am getting ready to order my wheels and tires. Wheelis I am looking at the Diamo DI 17 Karat Black/Polished 17x10. They have 5.03 Back Spacing, Offset -12, and Hub Bore of 87.1. Will these fit ok? Also I have the AS 2.5" LK coming. Should I run 33x12.50x17 or 35x12.50x17's? Thanks for the help. I just don't want to fill the whole fender well with tire and have no clearance.

The 35's will probably give you clearance problems, I'd stick with the 33's. I found out the hard way! Look at my gallery, had to take the 35's off.

So the 315's, are those 35's? You currently have the 285 Toyo's on there? And there are the equivalent to 33's? Truck looks good though.

Yes, the 315/70-17 is a 35x12.50 and the 285/70-17 is a 33x11.50. You won't be able to fit 35's with those wheels and just a leveling kit. Stick with 33's.

Thanks for the info Wandell. So those rims will fit ok? With 33X12.5x17 are they going to stick way out past the fender wells? I am not wanting anything outrageous if you know what I mean. thanks

You should be fine with 33x12.50's. Those wheels will stick out about 3 inches farther than your OEM wheels.

So what size wheels/tires do I need to go with for maybe 1-1 1/2 past OEM? 17x9 w/ 33x12.50? Also are the Mickey Thompson Classic II's any count? I had a 95 F350 in the past and went to order a set and the salesman talked me out of it. I just cant find the Diamo D1 17 Karat Black/Polished in 17x9. And I really like the black in the wheel with my Dark Stone Metallic Paint. Any suggestions?

I'd try to find a 9 inch wide wheel with at least 5 inches of backspacing, preferbably 5.5 or 6 inches of backspacing. As for the MT's, I've never heard anything negative about them and a ton of people here and FTW have them. My brother-in-law priced a set once from 4Wheel Parts and they claimed they had a ton of problems with them. It was the following month that they started advertising their line of Pro Comp Xtreme Alloys. I think I will beleive all of my internet friends over a huge chain store that is trying to sell a competing brand.

Does anyone have pics of 17x9 Mickey Thompson Classic II's with 5-6 inches of backspacing? Just curious as to how they look. My SCrew is Dark Stone Metallic. Thanks.

WS, I would also look at the 305x65x18 BFG AT's, these are close to 34" and would look great on a 18x9 wheel. These will fit on a leveled truck but will cost more then the 17's. If I had it to do over this is the route I would take, just my 2 cents! Of couse these tires just came out not too long ago.

Need some help.

My son has 2001 F-150. Front tire went flat and we can't remove the wheel. After lug nuts are off there is still some kind of cap or small cover over the center of wheel? Front wheels only. Truck is a 2x4

Any one know how this is removed ? It has no area to place a tool or obtain a grip to unscrew or pull it off.

Thanks,

Dennis

The OEM wheels are hubcentric. Sometimes they will rust to the hub and stick. Try hitting or kicking the top, bottom and sides of the tire to break it loose. Of course you need to make sure the truck is secure and you won't knock it off the jack. THe small cap you are refering to sounds like the dust cover over the hub nut, which you shouldn't have to touch.

Wandell, it sounds like the look I want is with a 17x9. However I really like the black Diamo 17 Karat wheels which only come in 17x10's, that I have found. With them and 33x12.5's you said I would be looking at 3 inches out further than OEM correct? So hou much out fast the fender will that put me? I am in the Marine Corps and in Okinawa Japan right now and haven't seen my truck other than a couple pics. That is why I can't look at it right now and see for myself. Thanks again for the assistance.

Yeah I just don't want them sling rocks and everything else all over the sides, I don't care much for the flares, and I really want to see a truck pic with those wheels on it.
