2.5" leveling kit???

I ordered my 2.5" leveling kit the other day but am wondering if that will leave the backend low. I see alot of people that are using the 2.5" kits are adding 1.5" AAL. I was hoping for the truck to be level.

I hate to ask a stupid question, but how can there be different size leveling kits? Some are 2" and some are two and a half. I'm special, so i don't get it.

I see they sell 1.5",2" and 2 1/2" kits. I even saw a site selling 3". My 06 Screw is a 4x4 model but not a FX model so I hope the 4x4 is just as high as the FX model. Does anyone know????

I put a Revtek "kit" on my fx4 that is supposed to be 2". It sits pretty level now, so i still don't get it.

The 'kits' are just spacers that go between your strut assembly and the body. The spacers can be made in different thicknesses, hence the 1.5/2/2/5 inch heights.

That part I understand. I don't understand why there are different sizes.

Its all about customization. Some people want it to be "perfectly" level others want a little rake. 2.5 inches is supposed to get you perfectly level. Anything less is supposed to leave the truck with some rake. Of course 2.5 inches is also the hardest on the joints and angles.

Personally I went with the 2 inch. I have a slight rake but its hardly noticeable. I really like it actually.

If you haul a lot or trailer you might consider a smaller leveling kit also, because you dont want the back of the truck sitting lower when you are doing those activities.

Just some quick thoughts..... Hope that answers your question of Why.....

Wow, thanks. Now I get it! Will 35" tires still fit under the front with a 2" spacer?

get the 2.5" kit...I put it on my truck with the huge brush guard and winch on the front that I've had for almost 2 yrs. and the truck is perfect....she sits level and I got to fit the tires that I wanted NO PROBLEM....

just my opinion, but you know how that goes..._motes

I'm running the AS 2.5" kit with nothing in the rear and my FX4 sits perfectly level. I'm very happy with it!

The 2.5" does make the back sit a little lower. I don't mind it though. Looks like highvoltage's is just a tad lower also
