Spare Tire different size....

Spare Tire different size....

hello - i recently changed my tires and wheels from 32's on 18s to 33's on 17s. do i need to change my spare as well? can i run not only a diffenent size tire but a different size wheel as well? thanks

its not that big of a difference...i just wouldnt run for long time. i wouldnt waste alot of money spacifically buyn a new one.

nope- you should be fine the only difference the smaller wheel would make is the weight- obviously you would only want to drive as little as possible on the smaller spare-when needed.

yeah i would only drive it long enough to get me home but if i was on a long trip i was just worried that i might screw up my tranny somehow. thanks

if you have the Limited Slip rear diff. and you happened to be so lucky as to flat a rear tire, on a longer trip home, it may be beneficial to pull one of the 33's from the front and mount that in the rear to keep the LS happy (other wise the clutches may see the size difference as a traction loss and attempt to correct)- and put the smaller spare up front- obviously this will produce a bit of left/right pull due to the size difference- other than that- you should be good to go!
