2006 FX4 with Factory 20's

Hi guys,

I have searched and have not found a definite yes or no on whether or not I can put larger tires on my 20's. Right now it is leveled with the rancho front struts. I think I can fit the BFG AT 305/55/20's but would like to move up to 325/60/20's. Of course I don't want them to rub and want to be able to turn fully. I have also been looking at the Toyo MT in 33 x 12.50R20 and 35 x 12.50R20, but think I would have to go with the 33's. From what I have read, the factory 20's are 8.5" ? wide. Any suggestions or advice on this would be great. All these tire sizes really have me annoyed.

Thanks!!

There is no doubt you can fit the 33x12.50's. I belive the 35's will be really tight and there may be some rubbing.

33x12.50 should fit fine. I have 33x13.50 and they rub at full lock.

35/12.50 will rub(slight) at full lock on the upper control arms. I've been told a wider rim will cure the problem...but I'm really happy with the factory look of the combination.

Thanks for the confirmation Wrk4gas! What has the rubbing done to the tire? Is it enough to cut them or is it just wearing down the inside? Does the stearing get jerky when they rub??

On another note, I have a good two buddies that live on the Eastern Shore in Machipongo. They are trying to get me to head down there to go fishing this summer. Been there once a couple of years ago... sweet place!

What kit did you use for the body lift?? the only kits I have found are for the styleside not the flareside.

Again thanks for your help, you truck looks great!
