New tires for 2003 Supercrew Fx4

I am looking for new tires for my 2003 Screw and am looking at Firestone Destination MT's or Goodyear MTR's. I currently have stock 165/70/17 and I want a larger agressive tire upgrade without changing wheels just yet. Any recommendations? Should I get 185/70/17's??

You made some typos as a 185mm wide tire would be tiny. I'd suggest going with the Goodyear MTR's in 285/70-17 (33x11.50) or 305/70-17 (34x12.50).

Thanks

I appreciate your input. It was late last night and I was looking for tires for my wife's car too. Thus the 165. I think I will get the 185/70/17's.

I give my vote for the mt/r's im running the 285/70/17 and love them not too loud and the drive well too.I have lots of clearance also I think next time i will go with a 34x12.50 thought I like the wider look.

how about the Cooper Discoverer STT's in 285/70/17..great looking mud terrain, great wearing, and they perform great offroad, and last but not least, they dont cost as much as the firestone or the goodyear or the bfg..i Had the the firestone destination mt before these coopers, and iloved the firestones, but they didnt last as long as i had hoped, thats why i decided to try the coopers
