back spacing

What back spacing would make my tires stick out the fender wale the most?
I plan on getting Moto Metal 951s 18x9, and wanting to run 35x12.5 or 35x13.5. Any opinons or pics?

If you get the 18x9 Moto Metal wheels with 6 inches of backspacing, they will stick out 1 inch farther than your OEM wheels. If you get the one's with 4.5 inches of backspacing they will stick out 2.5 inches farther than your OEM wheels.

wandell,
While you're at it, can you tell me the BS of the OEM 20's? Are they all at 7"?

Thanks,
DC

I'm not positive of the specs on the OEM 20's. I believe they are wider than the 17's and 18's.

They are wider. IIRC, they are 20x8.5 inches. So would that make a difference of 1 inch of backspacing?

No, backspacing isn't affected by wheel width like offset is. You could just pull one off and measure it. Here's a pic of how to measure backspacing.

wandell,
Great pic - it really shows how to do it.

I already knew how to measure BS, but have never actually done it. Maybe when it's rotation time I'll give it a whirl.
