backspacing question

i wrote recently about my soon to be setup (fabtech 6", 2.5 AS, 36x15.5x20 and deciding on which wheels) but my question is about backspacing. im really thinkin bout goin with the Maxx 6 rims and it says 5.0 backspacing. is this good? i think the moto metal 951's are 4.75. i know the 951's will work because they do on trooks truck. but is 5.0 backspacing ok? dont really know how backspace plays a factor, just know it does. what range of backspacing would be ok? thanks fellas.

I would want 5 inches of backspacing at a minimum. Backspacing (along with wheel width) determines how much your wheels "stick out". You OEM wheels are 7.5 inches wide with 5.5 inches of backspacing. So, a 10 inch wide wheel with 5 inches of backspacing will stick out 3 inches farther.
