Your thoughts on wheel/tire set up fitting

Hey guys - ok i have settled on an aftermarket wheel tire combo and just wanted to get your thoughts on rubbing. I am pretty sure I will be ok but I just wanted to get your thoughts.

I have an '06 FX4 scab. I am going to put a 2" AS leveling kit on it. I want to fit the nitto grappler 295/70/R17 which are listed as 33.2" high and 12.13 wide. I am going to put them on American Racing Crater wheels 17x9 which have 5" of backspacing and a 0 offset. The calculator on the American Racing website says the tires will stick out 2.5" more than stock which is not ideal. I'd rather they stuck out only an inch or so but I think I can live with it.

Everything I have read so far leads me to believe I will be ok but I just wanted to make one last check before I order them as I won't be able to return them and I really don't want to do any trimming.

So what do you guys think?

Thanks!

I think you will be fine as long as the 17 inch wheels will fit over your brakes. Ford changed brake calipers sometime during the 05 model year and this is causing fitment problems with SOME aftermarket 17 inch wheels.

Since you have an 06, you have the new larger calipers. I'm not sure if the AR wheels are one of the one's with clearance problems or not. Just be sure to test fit one first. Or, contact AR and ask them if there have been any fitment problems on 06-07 trucks.

Yes. All 2007, 2006 and late production 2005 F-150's have the new, larger calipers.
