Sometimes when I push the emergency brake foot pedal down to set the emergency brake, it goes all the way to the floor like it had not grabbed the cable. If I release it and try again, usually after a couple of times it works.
Any ideas before I remove the pedal assy?

 

First question would be what model year. It makes a difference. Some have rear drum brakes which means the e-brake uses the regular drum brakes for the e-brake. Some have rear disk that have a small set of drum brakes used exclusively for the e-brake.
