Procomp tires?

anybody using the all terrains, i am thinking about them a 265/75/16. Other choice would be the bfg ko's. Any opinions mostly on the procomp's.

im running xterrains two thumbs up in all conditions other than wet roads... snow- handled, mud- handled- gravel- handled- loose dirt roads- handled, paved roads- handled, wet roads- would like more traction, but decent

I had a set of the ProComp All Terrains on my 2002 Supercrew FX4. They were pretty good tires. I've had the BFG's before as well and I personally thought the ProComp's had a bit smoother ride to them. Could have been the differences in truck I had them on (BFG's on a 2001 XL, ProComp's on the Supercrew). I just took mine off with about 50,000 miles on them. They still had a lot of tread left, they were just starting to wear unevenly making the ride quite bumpy. They could no longer balance them. They performed well on wet roads and on the beach (Galveston). Don't do much off-roading so not sure how well they'd work there. I would give them a positive rating. and recommend them. I was just really ready for a different look. They are more aggressive looking in person than they appear in the picture on the site. I know they also have the new xtreme all-terrain which is supposed to be a nice tire too. I have pics in my gallery of my truck with the all-terrains. The more recent pics have the nitto terra grapplers (which I love). Good luck. Hope this helps.

The standard Pro Comp AT's have a pretty average reputation. The new Xtreme AT's are getting great reviews however.

i think they have a harder compound rubber than my toyo mt's did (which is what i compared my xterrains to), so when you do want/need to move they slip a little too easy... in hard/tight turns, where you really need to pull thru the corner, the back end can get a little sloppy.. i mean, once i had had the tires on all surfaces, i can adapt my driving style to how they react and am totally confident in my tires, i would just like it it if the stuck a bit better... like i said though, on snow, and hard pack they really bite and hold. i have a feeling that on ice, they are going to react similar to how they do on wet conditions

im really not going to offroad that much, but a little so i want a good tire but one that will do good on every other surface. The one thing that i want is good traction on wet roads, because i hate sliding, so would you reccommend these or the bfg's? Also how are the tires on the highway?

i have the xterrains, which have considerably larger tread blocks than the xtreme all terrains... two totally different tires.. i suspect the all terrains to behave much better on wet roads. the xterrains behave very well on the highway, in all weather conditions.
the bfg at ko's will probably last you the longest, and are great tires all-around... i haven't had the terra grapplers, but from what i read here, they are also a pretty good tire...
these are what i have: Xterrains:

these are the xtreme at's which you originally asked about:

i have a 4x2 and plan on putting a 3 inch spindle lift in the front, and 2 inch block in the back, my question is do you know how far out the front tire will stick out? and how do i fix it. Also which will look better a 265/75/16 or 285/75/16? thanks for the help.

How much the front wheels stick out will depend on the spindles. Some stick out a little farther than others. There is no way to fix this. I'd go with the 285's. Also, the Terra Grappler is one of the best all terrian tires available.

with the 285's i would want to get 4.10 or 3.90 gears but i need to save some more cash for them, so how much power would i lose before i regear. i have the 4.2.

With a 4.2, you will probably notice a big difference.
