Question about 325/60 R20 tires???

I know it has been covered ad nauseum wether or not a 35" tire will fit on a 2006 4X4 with oem wheels. I always see, "very little rubbing" or "very little trimming" etc. I have a 2" autospring on a 2006 KR with oem 20's. My question is, where does it rub, what needs to be trimmed and most importantly I notice very little clearance between the sidewall and upper balljoint with factory 275's, can the tire touch here with 325's? is any rubbing or contact with the upper control arms an issue at full lock? These trucks don't have adjustable steering stops. Thanks for any help.

P.S. tire rack has kumho 325/60 R20's for less than $1000 a set. Lowest price on that size I have seen anywhere.

35's wont fit with the 20's... the factory 18" tire is 7.5, and i know the 20"s arnt 7.5" wide. i had the 35" with the factory 18 and they rub on the upper control arms on turns(my new wheels solved the problem). so i recomend a lift or body lift if you would like to go with the 35's on ur stock 20's

why wouldn't they Tonka? a 325/60R20 going to have the same section width as a 325/65R18: 12.5-13" its going to fit just the same, its just got a bigger rim and the backspacing of the 20 is mounting the wheel similarly to the 18x7.5's- 35" is 35"...
ive got pics in my gallery of where 35x12.5's on 18's rub, but as i said i think they're going to mount/sit the same, so take a look- they rub the uca, the lca, and if you hold the wheel at full crank, the tread of my mt's glance the frame-side.

Look at the thread below, he was able to fit 35"x12.5" on a after market wheel with minimal trimming. I myself is going this route, just trying to find the right wheel with the right 5" backspacing.

Thanks,

Baloguk, those pics are just what I needed to see, I see rubbing on upper control arms and on the sway bar. I'm going to go with a 275/65 R20 which will be about 34" and narrower, only problem is they only come in Goodyear Wrangler ATS, which don't last as long as I'd like.

BFG just came out with a 285/65 R20, but $400 a piece, I'm sorry but anyone who pays that much for a tire on anything that won't go 200mph is stoonad in my opinion.

The factory 20's are 8.5" wide and it looks like the extra inch all went into backspacing, so I would tend to agree that rubbing would probably be worse with them than the 18's.

hey glad to help-
they got an inch wider- but if they kept the same backspacing, THEN you would have massive rub problems- but since they pulled the backspacing 1" as well, that should compensate the rub- Ford's stupid, but not that stupid- hopefully.

either way, good luck with your purchase, don't forget to post pics- and hell no don't pay $400 a tire- my 35" muds were under 300/ea
