They fit!

A big thank you to Wandell and others for the information in this section.

The tire dealer didn't think the 315's would clear without rubbing, after I saw the tire up close I wasn't sure myself. I have put a little over 100 miles on them with no rubbing, no compliants, and lots of compliments.
Thanks Guys!!!

Looks great.....is that stock suspension, no leveling kit?

Hmmm....wonder if they'd fit on my 03' screw?

looks good. yep it seems to be that a 17x8 or 17x8.5 rim with 5.5" of BS will clear a 315 without any rubbing..

I'm not very savy on the backspace....does it mean the smaller the number the more the tire will extend past the wheel wells?

Thanks for the kind words!

The wheels are 17x8 Ultra T-6 w/5.5" backspace. The tires are 315/70/17 BFG's. I also installed the TRUXXX brand 3" leveling kit a few weeks ago.

One thing I learned and I will tell you that you can't always trust the wheel distributers/retailers product knowledge.

The best bet is to go to the manufacturer's website to get the exact specs and product identification number.

I was able to run 315's on stock 17's with w 2.5" autospring w/o rub or any wear issues at all. I've also got some extra weight on the front end and haven't rubbed yet...Nice truck.
