Anybody running Pro Comp Xterrains?

Can anyone comment on Pro Comp's Xterrain? Looking at 35x12.50x18's and would love to hear from those running these or other Pro Comp tires. How's PC's tread life compared to other manufacturers? Thanks!

BalogUK is running that exact size. I'm sure he'll help you out!

yo what up. as GA FX4 has said- im running that exact tire. its a great tire so far imo- ive only had it on loose dirt, packed dirt, gravel, and roadway so far- and it handles similarly as my toyo mt's did (which were absolutely hands down amazing) in a few weeks should get to see how they do on snow... treadlife- eh its mediocre- i think at the same point in their life (7,000 miles so far on em) they are a little lower than my toyo mts were--but then again, i didn't have my xcal 2 when i had my toyos, so i couldnt spin/abuse em... the compound is a hard compound so they can take a beating- no chunking out, have pretty decent road manners- and are quiet- they are directional too, so just a front to back rotation. lemme know if you've got any specific questions-

Thanks BalogUK. Why did you switch from the Toyo MT to Pro Comp? Those are the two tires I'm trying to decide on and any opinion would be helpful. Most of my driving will be on asphalt. Toyo's are about $200 more for a set of 4.

i switched cause i walked into my local tire shop to get my toyos rotated, the procomps were sitting on the floor and he said ill give em to you out the door for 1100- i said sold. which begs the question: The toyos are $200 more?!! heck no!! or youve got one helluva deal on the procomps- the xterrains are a $350-375/tire retail generally, the toyo mts in a 35x12.5R18 should only be about $275-300 tire retail. whats the offer on the toyos and procomps for you?

4 Pro Comp Xterrain $1200 or 4 Toyo MT $1400. Both are 35x12.50x18. I want to get the most tread life I can and still have an aggressive off-road tire. I know, that's an oxymoron.

i entirely relate there man- heck if im dropping over a grand on tires, they better work..and work for a long time!!! id say you've got a good deal on the xt's- the price on the toyos is a bit high they can be had at 1200- either are a great choice- i think the toyos are a better tire personally, but again, the pc's are nothing to sneeze at- i get plenty of looks and comments on em- especially on the tailgate mud pit where guys are sliding left and right, and my truck holds true, and shovels thru all the crud with no effort.

I had them in 35x12.5/17's and did not like them. Worthless in sand, good in mud, ok in snow and a wee bit noisy on the highway. I had speed vibration at highway speeds and the cupping was horrible. They were pretty much ruined in 12k miles but I managed to get about 20k out of them waiting for my backordered Toyo MT's (which are extremely quiet and smooth). One of them wore twice as fast as the rest. 4wheelparts in santa ana was worthless and they are asswipes that rip you off and have no customer service skills at all! I finally went to the laguna hills 4wp and they new what it was, unlike SA 4wp that were incompentant dumbasses and they rebalanced the tire. This helped me stretch out the life waiting fot the Toyos but I couldn't even use them in the rain the tread looked like wedges of cheese and like I drove in reverse all the time. Oh and they sold me those over the Iroks claiming the same problem with balancing. For my toyo's 4WP's lied out their *** and wanted to charge me more then they advertised in their magazine. Why, cause they get commison (stupid fockers). It was about $309/ea in their magazine and they wanted $360/ea. They said the best they could do was $345/ea, they lied. I called the 800# and they acknoledged the price but only after I told them to check the magazine but by this time thye only had two tires left. I went to wheel Warehouse and got them for $290/ea.

Digging up an old thread here, but how was the highway noise level of the Toyo's vs the ProComps? And then vs a stock/AT style tire?
