ProComp Quality & Modified body lift

I'm shopping for a wheel/tire combo that I like for my '04 Screw 4x4. I just ordered a 2.5" AS, thanks to the information posted on this forum, and I'm now struggling with tire size. The 33" don't look big enough for the look I want. The 35" won't seem to fit without a body lift and 3" seems too much.

Has anyone cut down a 3" to make it shorter? Can you do that without messing up the whole kit? Also, any comments on the tread wear on Pro Comp tires? I'm looking at the XTerrain but I drive on paved ashphalt 90% of the time. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't try to cut down the body lift. You will have to buy shorter bolts and the bumper relocation brackets and other brackets/extensions won't line up correctly.
