weak brake power

weak brake power

my 97 f150 lairet has started to have mushy brake pedal so redid all the pads and bleed them with a vacuum system and still soft. i had a friend with the same problem and he finally replaced the master cylinder and poof gone all better! any one else have any suggestions??

Did you put grease around the bleeder fitting when you had the vacuum attached? Otherwise, sometimes they suck air back into the line when they’re out.

After you’re done moving clean fluid through, I always find it’s best to just get a helper to pump the brakes a couple of times to finish each corner off. Works for me.

ya i did it all right i have done it a million times and after you said that i went back and did it again but still have the problem. and i noticed the other day i layed on the brakes and my R/F tire locked up then the abs kicked in but it did not seem to pull to much and when under normal stopping power the peddle is just soft like there is air in the lines but i know there is not so now I'm lost....... help???
