New Tires Rubbing
New Tires Rubbing
I just put some 285-75 nitto terra grapers on eagle 16x10 rims. I thought that I could put these on my 03 4x4 without any problems...I have already trimed the front bumper valance about 1 inch and also my running board on one side about 1/2 inch it is still very close looks like if I went offroad it would**** something up...Why am I having problems with these tires? Should I crank my torsion bars? Could it be that my shocks are bad?

I ran that size tire and 16x10's at stock height and only had to trim about 1/2 inch of plastic off my front bumper's lower valance. You could crank up the torsion bars some. You shouldn't have any rubbing other than that. You said it looks "close". Does that mean it rubbing, or are you just afraid it will rub while offroading? Find a curb or something to drive onto to flex your suspension and see if it rubs.
Hey Wandell, I posted some pics of the wheels in my gallery. I did a little flex test 2-day and it did not rub but, Its very close Im concerned that if I had any speed up hitting rough terrain it would. still confused as to why I am having this prob...I can trim more off the front valance no prob its the back of front fender that I am so limited on how much I can take off....
