Got a nail in my tire. Will this be OK?

I have soem 31's and got a nail in my tire and it slowly was leaking air. I took it to a shop and they said they repaired it from the inside of the tire. they said it was much better than plugging it. It cost me 12 bucks. Will this be alright for the long run?

I've ran that type of repair for 1000's of miles with no problem. Although, I wouldn't haul a real heavy load at high speed in the middle of the summer with a repaired tire.

I've never had a problem with a plug or a patch.

Yea the patch is usually better than a plug but you shouldnt have any problems with either.

Patches are better than plugs you should be fine and may never have another problem with it. I know I am being a super hypocrite right now but you should have a plug kit with you anyway. I say I am being hypocritical because I realize mine is not in my truck right now either.

I had a tire plugged at 20k.
After a few rotations I couldn't recall which tire was plugged.
All four lasted 75k.

last time I had one patched it lasted for ever but they didn't re-balance the tire, so check on that. I prefer the plug kit, always have one handy.

I carry a plug kit and a little cheap compressor at all times. I've had 3 flats in the last two years and never even removed a wheel! I did find that an old plug was leaking last week so I just put another one in and it's fine. I'm sure patches are better but not in an emergency. Everyone should carry these items!!!!!!!!
