33x12.50x17 on 7.5 rims

From everything I am reading here, a 33x12.50x17 can fit on my factory 7.5 rims. I was wondering if anyone has ever had a hard time getting a garage to put them on the rims? I am being told that I shouldn't go over the 285's.

thanks

Most tire manufacturers recommend an 8 to 10 inch wide wheel for a 12.50 width tire. However, it will work. Some shops are just overly liability consious. Usually, running a tire on too narrow a wheel will cause the center portion of the tires tread to wear slightly faster than normal.

I can always count on you to answer. So since I am not doing the body lift, do you think I will have any problems fitting those tires on my 99 F150 4x4 with the torsion bars cranked? I have 285 x 70 x 17s on it now and I am really just looking for something that will hang out side the fenders an inch or so.

Thanks for your help.

They will fit easily with the OEM wheels, but they are not gonna stick out of the wheelwells. The 33x12.50's are only an inch wider than your 285's.

a 285/75/16 is a 33x11.50. A 34x11 will fit on a stock 4x4 with torsion bars cranked.
