Biggest tire on stock wheel
Hey folks, I have a 2005 F150 Super Crew 4x4 STX w/17" wheels. Budget constraints are allowing me to get new tires at this time. What is the biggest tire I can get to probably lift my truck a few inches and still keep the wheels. I don't even know if this is possible, but am trying to get some options/ideas. Lift kits are out of the question due to lack of tech knowhow and $$$. thanx, Dave

if you've got some good mechanical knowledge, and a friend you can get it done in about an hour or two or take it to any reputable shop which does suspension work- they can do it in about an hour...if you look in your wheel well, you will see the spring, and at the top, a black cap...the leveling kit fits on top of the spring, underneath the cap
right under the largest black piece that kind of makes an upside down "U" you will see like a 1/4" thick piece of metal- thats the bottom edge of my autospring kit...

Here you go Dave, this thread helped me out in deciding to install the spacer myself. 1-2 hours is all it does take.

If you want I have a 2.5" AS leveling kit brand new sitting in the box it came in. I am just looking to recover some of the money I spent on it so hit me up via email if you want. cvc14@aol.com
