front brakes and rotors in 35 minutes!

well it was the third brake job ( fronts)on my 2002 Fx4 super cab long bed. because I applied plenty of anti sieze around the inner rotor and the hub it fits closely on....I think thats why they were hanging for me when the tire came off!....from the time I parked her, to the time I put the last tool away and started her up...35 minutes!...hell of a lot better than laying under there with a sledge hammer....did that a few times with my 97 f-150 4x4!!

I saved the front rotors for truning at my liesure...but for $28 at advance auto for new rotors...I am thinking just replace the rotors everytime I replace the pads!..aint worth the trip to the shop to have the old ones turned...at maybe $12-$18 each.. then reinstall truned but RUSTY rotors.. and have less width as well...only to save $10 or so....minus the extra trip to the shop...heck maybe it even costs more that way!

my book showed spots to grease under the front end...but when i looked previously, I never saw a grease fitting anywhere. Thats what sucks about those chilton-haynes books.. they show pictures that dont fit your vehicle I think!!

I did the rears last weekend...that took over an hour because the emergency shoes held up the rotor for a while. Finally the e-brake lineings came off with the rotor!....I havent replaced those yet!....Ill do that this weekend when I do a rear axel seal........
