Another Tire Rim Question

Hello, I became a member on this site over a year a ago but for some reason it says I wasn't a memember and had to create a new account. I've got a 2001 F150 King Ranch SuperCrew 4x4 I wanna do a 6" suspension Lift with 22" tires and 37 tires. First off will this work or am I just stupid? Second What do I have to look at in rims in order to fit this large tire? I also hear I'll need to change my gears what would I need to change them to? I'm just a daily driver.

Cheers,

to fit 37s youd be best off putting a 3in body lift on top of the 6in suspension lift. i have 35s and rub a little so 37s would defenitly rub. as far as tires go lots of companies make tires for big rims now. nitto, super swaper, toyo. bfg, pro comp, and mickey thompson make tires up to a 20in rim.

SO in your opinion if I didn't want to do a body lift just stick with a 6" suspension lift, should I stay away from 22" wheel and stick with like 20" with 37 and 6" backspacing? Did you end up changing the gears in your truck?

Cheers,

He's saying you will probably need a 6 inch suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift to fit 37 inch tires. It doesn't matter if you use a 16 inch wheel or a 24 inch wheel. It's the size of the tire, not the wheel. Most people running a 6 inch suspension lift are using 35 inch tires.

Thanks for all the info this helps a lot. How about gears would these need to be changed if I was running 35's?

I'd go with 4.56 gears.
